I'm looking forward to welcoming you to Wilding Retreat at Dark Fairy Farm in Miranda. A little preparation before you leave will help you arrive with what you need and a little more room to settle in. Here are the things I'd like you to know as you plan your stay.

Once booked, check your booking confirmation and my host messages for private directions and access information. Your reservation portal also holds the stay details available there. If something is missing or unclear, please message me through your booking channel before setting off.

Before you book: consider the journey

The property has a steep driveway and steep paths. A 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended. If you are travelling in a 2WD vehicle, plan to park at the gate or top of the driveway rather than driving down.

Please talk with me about mobility needs, luggage assistance and any questions about getting around the property before travel. If you are still choosing a stay, ask before booking so we can discuss the arrangements and you can decide what suits you.

Review the details of your chosen accommodation, including its guest limit, what is provided and what you will need to arrange separately.

Once booked: check your stay details

Take a few minutes to read your confirmation, host messages and available portal information together. Check:

  • Your accommodation, dates and number of guests.

  • Your confirmed check-in window, latest arrival time and checkout time.

  • The private directions and arrival instructions.

  • The House Rules and any details specific to your stay.

  • Which meals or services, if any, are included, requested or separately confirmed.

You can use Contact host in your reservation portal or message me through your booking channel. A requested appointment time is still a request until I have confirmed it with you.

Plan to arrive before dark

Please plan to arrive before dark for safety. Allow time for breaks and unexpected delays along the way. Planning around daylight makes the last part of the journey easier; check your confirmed arrival window as well.

Review the directions for your reservation while you still have a connection.

Remember to take a screenshot of the directions as phone service is limited on the way to our property.

If you need help with luggage, please arrange it with me by messaging before travel. If your plans change, let me know while you have service rather than relying on being able to make contact at the gate.

Pack for warm days, cool nights and a little exploring

Bring waterproof shoes with good grip for the steep paths, and layers you can add or take off as the day changes. Warm inland days can give way to cool nights, so make room for something cosy.

If you are heading to the ocean, take a warm layer and something to keep the wind off. In my experience, the coast can be 20–30°F cooler than the inland heat. It varies from day to day, so check the forecast for the places you plan to visit.

For a winter stay, pack for wet weather: waterproof footwear and a waterproof outer layer are especially useful. A headlamp is worth bringing too, so you can keep your hands free when you need light after dark.

Alongside your usual personal essentials, consider:

  • Food and drinks that fit the meal arrangements for your reservation.

  • Your saved directions and confirmed arrival details.

  • A book, journal or something simple you enjoy during quiet time.

  • An optional portable solar charger if you would like extra charging flexibility; its usefulness will depend on sunlight and your equipment.

  • A favourite crystal, if it is part of your own ocean or full-moon ritual.

Leave a little room in your bag if you enjoy buying crystals or shells locally. If you hope to collect something yourself, first check the rules for that exact place and collect only where it is expressly permitted. You can always leave what you find and keep a photograph or a memory instead.

Help me care for our off-grid solar system

Please leave high-power heating and blowing devices at home. Do not use hot pots, electric steamers, electric blankets, hair dryers, curling irons or other high-power heating or blowing appliances on the property's off-grid solar system.

If you are thinking of bringing any other appliance, ask me before plugging it in. Please do not assume it is suitable because it is small or portable. Message me about your equipment before travel so we can discuss your needs and confirm whether it is suitable.

Confirm meals and appointments in advance

Meals and services can differ by booking and channel, so check what applies to your stay. Everything mentioned on the website is not automatically included in every reservation.

If your booking includes a session, contact me to arrange it. If you would like something additional, ask about availability and any separate cost before building your plans around it. Keep confirmed appointments on your itinerary and leave requests open until you hear back.

One last check before you leave

Have your directions saved, your arrival time planned and any assistance arranged. Check the weather and road conditions for your route. If you are using 2WD, remember that your parking plan is at the gate or top, not down the driveway.

Then leave a little breathing room in the day. You don't need to arrive with every hour of your retreat filled.
